Quick answer

Mortal Shell 2 Seals quick answer: compare all four before you equip Slayer

Four-Seal comparison with the Slayer equip warning, current defensive-role guidance, and acquisition summaries: Mortal Shell 2 currently has four documented Seals, Untarnished, Vatra's, Infinite, and Slayer. Untarnished is the safest first-playthrough default because it keeps a held Guard fallback behind Perfect Guard, Vatra's shifts the button into Harden pressure, Infinite turns parry into the full defensive plan, and Slayer is the sidearm-focused outlier that permanently disables achievements once you equip it on that save.

Acquisition summaries are simple: Untarnished is your baseline, Vatra's comes from the Temple of Vatra region, Infinite is tied to Crypt of Martyrs progress, and Slayer is safe to collect but not safe to equip on an achievement run. If the question is which Seal to use, start Untarnished unless you already know you want Harden pressure, boss-timing parries, or a Slayer-only challenge file.

How to choose

Match the Seal to the fight, not to a fake universal ranking

First playthrough

Untarnished Seal. Guard plus Perfect Guard gives you a fallback when your timing is late.

Aggressive melee

Vatra's Seal. Harden keeps pressure without turning this page into an unsupported damage ranking.

Boss duels

Infinite Seal. Parry becomes stronger when you already know the boss timing and do not need a held-block fallback.

Sidearm / challenge setup

Slayer Seal. Use it only when the sidearm-focused payoff is worth the permanent achievement lock on that save.

FAQ

Seal questions

How many Seals are in Mortal Shell II?

Four documented Seals are currently in scope: Untarnished, Vatra's, Infinite, and Slayer.

Which Seal is safest for a first playthrough?

Untarnished is the safest beginner choice in the current public evidence because it keeps a held Guard fallback behind the timed Perfect Guard.

Does picking up the Slayer Seal disable achievements?

No. The warning applies when you equip Slayer Seal on that save, not when you collect it.

Can one Seal stay equipped on every Shell?

Yes. Seal choice applies across your Shells, so the question is which defensive input fits the fight you are about to take.
