Understand the Great Martyr's Blade +20% Patch 1 buff and its observed Eredrim/Frost counter pairing.
Clear the Martyr's Prison route east of Citadel of Penance to obtain Great Martyr's Blade. Balance Patch 1 increased its attack damage by 20%; the Eredrim / Frost pairing is a separate NG++ community observation, not an official best-build claim.
The developer-posted patch note is exact: attack damage increased by 20%. It proves the weapon was strengthened relative to its previous version. It does not reveal the full damage formula, enemy mitigation, animation uptime, or a new time-to-kill result.
For that reason, this guide records the change and refuses to turn it into a fabricated DPS number. Use the current in-game version for actual damage comparison.
The NG++ test uses Great Martyr's Blade with Eredrim and Frost for a counter-focused, high-execution build. The role is coherent because both the weapon rhythm and Shell evidence point toward deliberate timing rather than fast room clear.
If your Shell, status support, or timing goal differs, the pairing evidence no longer applies directly. That is a conditional gap, not proof that the weapon is unusable elsewhere.

The patch alone does not establish a universal rank.
